Meet the Team
Isn't it great now that winter is here?
(Only joking of course, that was a joke if you didn't realize. It's like the time I went to see a comedy night in Englefield Green and one of the comedians said 'I just came back from Glasgow. Great town, but not enough chunky faced alcoholics there for my liking.')
One of the only good things about winter is when the sun is shining on a crisp day, and you can see the sinking sun through the bare trees.
I visited Thorpe Park last week after being invited on a press trip by their publicity officers, and went with some of the other Herald journalists to try out the new 'Fright Night' mazes.
And I must say, I had a brilliant time, the rides were good, and we got given free nibbles and alcohol (which I didn't think was a very wise idea considering we were going to be shot around at 100mph).
But what struck me as strange was how the publicity team sold it to me as 'being a party for journalists and celebrities.'
Sorry for the delay in my latest blog, I have been on holiday.
Well, that and being a bit ill. But listen to this story, I think you'll like it.
Here I am, back in the office and undergoing the typical bizarre week you get at local papers.
I have just been told the Environment Agency will be electro-fishing some of the River Thames this week to check on fish stocks.
The focus this year is on the eel, after worries their numbers are declining.
