Boys and girls from the 1st Molesey Sea Scout Group passed their Royal Naval inspection on October 10.

Lt Commander Griffiths was served a three course meal by four sea scout members, and then taken to the river where he watched them sail and kayak.

The Princess Alice Hospice 'Look Good Feel Great' patient makeover day on Friday 10 of October saw project partner and world famous hairdresser Trevor Sorbie and the FAMOUS make up team return to host a day of patient pampering. The event held to coincide with World Hospice and Palliative Care Day on Saturday 11 October comes very soon after the incredible success of a visit from Trinny and Susannah on September 24.

On Saturday 6 September, Jonathan Perkins, Trustee of the Princess Alice Hospice led by example as he took part in the Hospice's first Midnight Walk, he also encouraged two other trustees Lynn Gilbert and Jenny Provin to join him and make up a team called 'The Alice Band'.

A scout group desperately trying to repair their dilapidated hut got a £5000 cash injection last week.

The 3rd Molesey Scout Group have been trying to raise £30,000 over the past two years to repair their scout hut roof, which leaks every time it rains.

On Thursday Septmeber 25 the group got given £5000 by government group Grassroots Grants which takes their total up to over £27,000.

timtothom4.jpgTwo friends managed an almighty feat on Saturday September 13 after taking under 15 hours to cycle, swim and run from Molesey to the Isle of Wight.

Tim Moss, 25, and Thom Allen, 24, took on the challenge to get from Tim's house in Green Lane, Molesey, to Thom's house in Newport, on the Isle of Wight all to raise cash for the British Schools Exploring Society, a youth development charity that runs overseas expeditions for 16 to 20-year-olds.

Trevor Baylis.jpgFollowing on from the hugely popular all women 'Look Good Feel Great' patient makeover days the team at the Princess Alice Day Hospice decided to spoil the men, although there were no make up or nail treatments on offer.

The very first all male 'Gentlemen's Day' took place on Tuesday 2 September and 25 patients enjoyed a very entertaining talk from Trevor Baylis the inventor of the hugely successful and innovative 'Wind Up' radio. The male guests also enjoyed a question and answer session with Trevor, and had the opportunity to view Trevor's most recent inventions.

The 'Great British Duck Race' (GBDR) saw 175,000 blue plastic ducks slowly 'bob' downstream to break a new Guiness World Record for 'Worlds Biggest Plastic Charity Duck Race.'

timtothom-dynamic.jpgTwo friends stuffed their faces with a mountain of junk food to raise money for charity - and now they'll run, swim, and cycle off the excess pounds in a quirky triathalon.

Tim Moss, 25, of Green Lane, Molesey, and his University friend Thom Allen, 23, are appealing for sponsors to back them in their fundraising event, called from Tim to Thom.

alison-austin-dynamic.jpgA mum is organising a fundraising wedding ball in memory of her pregnant daughter who died from meningitis.

Alice Austin, 68, is staging the event for her daughter Gillian Redman, of Green Lane, Hersham, who died in March 2004 aged 31. She was 26 weeks pregnant and her baby, called Grace, died a short while afterwards when her lungs failed.

The ball is being held at the Gold Cup Suite, at Sandown Park Race Course, on September 27, and gives women the chance to dust off their wedding dresses and wear them again.

The Princess Alice Hospice Therapy Team members are leading by example; they have been building up their fitness levels and getting in some additional training following their registration for the very first, Princess Alice Hospice MIDNIGHT WALK on Saturday 6 September.
