It's all just magical fun

Face painting and fancy dress are all part of the fun envisaged at late night shopping event Magical Molesey.

On December 1, the night, organised by the Walton Road Traders Association and Molesey Residents Association, will begin at 5pm where Walton Road shops will stay open until late.

The event will also include quizzes, competitions, and carol singing.

Carole Needham, of Upper Farm Road, rang Surrey County Council - which is responsible for highways - on October 24 to say nothing has been done since the hole was dug in May this year when lamposts were being replaced.

An incident involving a man who fell to his death at a boat yard is being investigated by the Health and Safety Executive.

The man fell to his death on October 15 this year at Ditton Marine Services Ltd in Portsmouth Road, Thames Ditton, but died five days later in Kingston hospital.

One step closer

Residents of Molesey have hit out at the first stage of approval to build on the site of the old Jolly Boatman pub.

At an Elmbridge Council planning meeting last Tuesday the decision to build 66 flats, a 46 bedroom hotel, a care home, underground car park on Hampton Court Way, by Gladedale, The Royal Star and Garter, and Network Rail, moved one step closer when councillors voted five to four to permit the application that used a classical design on the hotel.

Winter time blues

mark.jpgIsn't it great now that winter is here?

(Only joking of course, that was a joke if you didn't realize. It's like the time I went to see a comedy night in Englefield Green and one of the comedians said 'I just came back from Glasgow. Great town, but not enough chunky faced alcoholics there for my liking.')

One of the only good things about winter is when the sun is shining on a crisp day, and you can see the sinking sun through the bare trees.
