faraday-road-22-.jpgA 49-year-old dad was coshed over the head with a brick as he walked along Faraday Road, West Molesey, with his wife and son.

The incident happened shortly after 12am on Sunday 12 October when the victim, from Purley, was approached by four youths, two male and two females.

When the victim confronted one of the suspects he was hit on the back of the head with a brick. One of the boys then attempted to hit him several times but the victim blocked these blows with his left arm but was then hit in the back.

Following the incident two 19-year-old males from West Molesey and a 16-year-old girl from Wimbledon were arrested on suspicion of ABH assault. All three suspects have been released on police bail until Sunday 9 November.

The dad was treated for minor head, arm and back injuries at Kingston Hospital.

Maxine Brooksbank, of Staines Police, said this week: "This was a worrying incident where a man has been injured in a completely unprovoked attack.

"Fortunately the victim was not more seriously injured but this was clearly a very upsetting incident for both the victim and his family.

"Although we have arrested three suspects in connection with this offence Surrey Police would still like to hear from anyone who was in the Faraday Road area around the time of the incident who may have seen or heard anything suspicious."

Anyone who witnessed the incident or with any information should contact Surrey Police on 0845 125 2222, quoting reference EL/08/5601.

Alternatively call Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.

We'd like to hear from you.
